From the past few months, we are facing the pandemic situation (COVID -19) all over the world and this is prevailing in our country also. So, due to this situation, our daily routine has changed a lot, by not attending the regular classes, labs and examinations. So, students are going down from an academic point of view. To overcome this situation, our Vishnu society came up with a solution to start online classes to interact with students as well as they started teaching regular academics. We are taking up assignments in a way that, we are listening to the class of a subject an hour a day and we started collecting resources online to get in depth subject knowledge and we prepare the notes accordingly. This is nothing but SELF LEARNING. Due to this, we can improve our creativity. As I am a third year student, we are having tests on Conduira and Vishnu Placements regularly and our faculty are also mentoring us according to our performance, with regard to placement training.

We are happy to share that our Management has initiated a teaching-learning centre called VEDIC (Vishnu Educational Development & Innovation Centre) and behaviour specialists from VEDIC are conducting online interaction with Students on SELF MANAGEMENT skills in this tough situation. And mainly our management is providing the COURSERA courses for free, where each course is worth Rs 2000/-, this course helps the students a lot, to use the lockdown time in a useful way, free of cost. And I am preparing for GATE 2021 by using COURSERA resource.

So, I thank our Management a lot for providing worthful free courses and online classes for our improvement in skills as well as academics. And this is the best time ever with my family for a long time and also the best time to learn myself.

Initially I had no idea, how great my online teaching experience would turn out to be, I taught for one year in the traditional class room while engaging 60 students at a time. Students in the class room were hesitant even to raise their doubts ..

But during online classes students are more relaxed and interacted with me better than before. The class discussions in the online classes are now consistently lengthier, more insightful, and necessitate a higher level of preparation. These students are actually reading the material, reflecting upon it and responding to questions that have been posted. It has given me a great experience to deal with the students both in traditional and online teaching.

Online learning has been a little hard to me, the first week was rather rough and too hard listening to the topics in online classes. I was bored checking my emails, Google classroom links about the assignment work. I am missing my college, the campus, classroom, Professors and other students a lot. I am disappointed that we had to move online because I really love coming to the campus and seeing my Professors and other students. As for course work, some assignments have been more stressful than others. I have very good relationship with my Professors and enjoy talking to them in and outside of the classroom.

It was hard to sit in front of mobile or laptop while the faculty were teaching . Most us and my Professors are also facing the problem of internet connectivity during the online classes. Even then, I realized, online classes are the best place for communicating with others and gaining knowledge.

We were learning through various formats, videos, audio, ppts , live sessions and softcopies of handouts. I have come to experience the true potential of online education.

I feel very glad to inform you that, during this time of pandemic Covid19, our faculty have been very conscious in making us go ahead in learning the subjects through online sessions such as video lectures in zoom meetings and sharing notes through google classroom.

It helped us review the past syllabus and cover the remaining topics which were altered by this lockdown effect. Not only with the subject faculty, we are also engaging with our project guides in video conferences regarding our project presentations.

They are guiding us regarding our projects in this mean time. During this time of lockdown we have engaged ourselves in learning some of the courses from Coursera, Udemy and Codeacademy which are essential and related to our job and which can help us withstand in our work environment.

We are facing adverse time as there is the spread of COVID-19 news all over the world, through television, social media, newspapers, family and friends and other sources. The most common emotion faced by all of us is fear. It makes us anxious, panic and even possibly makes us think, say or do things that we might not consider appropriate under normal circumstances.

It is my immense pleasure to virtually contact the students through YouTube channel and virtual labs. It is a new experience for me to conduct practical sessions through virtual labs to lead the students. My YouTube channel and online classes help to reduce the distance between students and subjects.

To develop enthusiasm in students I conduct experiments through online. This would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation. We are providing a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation. It is not an easy task to restrict ourselves to stay homes due to Covid-19. But it is the time learn new things like technological tools like OBS and other platforms and enrich ourselves.

Switching to different teaching methods quickly is a new happening

Online learning has been very tricky. It is not my favorite way of learning. Initially it has been difficult to adjust. Switching to different teaching methods quickly is a new happening in recent days. COVID-19 has brought a very significant change in teaching techniques. Since we have already gone through many online lectures using Google Classroom, Edmodo and other resources it was a little bit easy adjustment.

I always love being in classroom with all my friends and faculty and engage myself in the discussions and activities. It has been tough checking my emails about the assignments given and doing them constantly and consistently. Each online program has different structure of presentation. We use Zoom and Google meet as our tools. Faculty also involved themselves into this change and started teaching us in different ways.

I have seen that other students also started to adjust to this pandemic situation and they're also attending the online sessions regularly. Day by day we are also getting comfortable with online learning. Technology is a huge part of our lives. Staying at home and learning through online classes has also taught me Time management and responsibility. It has many distractions, but trying to balance college workload is also a great challenge. I think this had made me realize how important Time management and social interaction is. My generation is too invested in Technology. In this regard the transition has been useful in terms of exploring new tools and techniques with which online content can be delivered. I have learned a lot about myself during this time. I'm deeply committed to what we are doing to keep ourselves as safe as possible by slowing down the spread of COVID-19. I'm sure that it'll be a happy situation when we can all be back together again on the campus.

As I strongly believe in TRANSFORMATION but not in ELIMINATION, this COVID-19 made us transform from direct learning to E-learning (online learning). In the beginning, I felt difficulty and stressed to learn from home. As I am a 3rd-year student, I know this is the peak time to our placements so, I should transform myself to learn from home.

Our management(Vishnu Institute of Technology) is providing many resources to learn from homes like free Coursera courses, online group discussions with a group of 15 members and a mentor to improve our communication skills and correcting our mistakes, mock interviews, daily tests in Vishnu Placements on placement training.

As I am a CAP student, my faculty are encouraging us to do many programs on different platforms like Leetcode, Hackerrank, HackerEarth, InterviewBit, etc. This is also the time to change our habits and raise with new zeal after this lockdown. Our faculty are also conducting academic online classes, mentoring and motivating us to take part in the online classes. They encouraged us to stay home, stay safe, stay strong, and learn online.

online classes fit most of the students' lifestyle

My online classes are a convenience for me. Though in today's educational system most of the students are adapted to the traditional methods of learning this pandemic period has completely changed the scenario to the new method of online learning. Online classes help in the all-round development of the student as he/she has to gather more information from the sources with the instructions provided by the faculty. Though I miss the day-to-day interactions and conversations with my faculty and my fellow friends, online classes helped me in finding great resources to use during this time and in the future these resources helps us the most when we get back to normal life.

Furthermore, I do not have the direct interaction with the faculty; I can just email them at anytime or post my doubts or thoughts in the discussion forums. Mean while the major problem that many students face is adjusting his/her time to the online classes and also work with various courses that would develop their technical skills.

Finally to conclude I can say that online classes fit most of the students' lifestyle because they get a chance to develop on their own rather than following the traditional methods of teaching. I would love to take all my classes online and can get a good exposure to the world. With these online classes we can learn freely without any stress as we can balance our study while staying connected to everyone which helps me in not following a specific schedule all time, which I usually do in the regular classes.

Online learning has a completely different structure. It is somewhat tricky to gain knowledge due to lack of experience. Over seven weeks, our faculty are teaching using Zoom meetings in a few different ways. The design of learning provides us opportunities to do assessments like quizzes, chat room responses, case studies etc. During this lock down period, I feel that, Online classes have been a blessing. I can record sessions and watch them again. So, this e-learning poses a challenge to both teachers and students over technology and access, but is keeping everyone busy with worksheets, video lectures and assignments.

Our management has provided access to numerous courses and resources provided by prestigious universities through Coursera which sets us free from fee payment, a blessing during lockdown. I am really thankful l to them.

The teachers and the students alike are taking up these courses and we interact with each other at any time without the limitations of day or night, clearing doubts or taking tests. We are getting an opportunity to maintain a warm relationship with our teachers while communicating without fear. It gives learners plenty of time to digest, engage with each other, practice, or do on their own. I have adjusted well to e-learning.

In this lockdown period, once again our students proved the above statement with their enthusiasm and self-motivation in E-learning through multimedia tools (Zoom meeting,Google meet, Cisco Webex meetings etc.) from experts.

Till now education was imparted in the traditional system in this digital world. Due to COVID-19 effect, education systems globally have shifted to digital learning. Each week we are focusing on a particular topic. We have an interaction session with students at the end of a session on that topic. In classroom environments many students are shy of speaking in public. In an online environment, it can be much easier to share thoughts with others, talking to a professor after class has earlier been limited but with online classes, faculties have set hours for student interaction, Web based technologies make conversing with multiple students much easier.

These new learning models are constantly emerging on the market and give students various ways to fashion their education into something that suits them.. This also gives individuals a chance to complete a degree that they may have started and have not been able to continue for whatever reason. The future of online learning is exciting and opens education opportunities for a significant number of people.

Initially, I thought online teaching is as simple as was seen in YouTube and NPTEL guest lectures. But, as the situation has forced us to move online for teaching students, then I realized the difficulty of online teaching.

I have observed in direct teaching scenario, when all the materials and assignments were posted in Google classrooms for our students, they have always responded well for those assignments. I had felt confident and then this question surfaced in my mind, why can't we teach online? During the lockdown period I have been mentoring the III & IV year B. Tech students (20). I have motivated the students about their placements training, online classes, and courses.

Initially, students were not ready to accept the situation and online teaching owing to various practical problems such as poor network connectivity; carrier data requirement etc. But as time progressed, students began accepting the importance of online teaching in present condition and are attending online classes, placement trainings regularly. Online teaching is the future. Online learning during lockdown has influenced me to acquire knowledge about various upcoming technologies, online teaching methodologies, research trends and other online courses.

The whole world is stunned with COVID-19 everything being stopped as it is. In such challenging times everyone should be strong physically and psychologically. As we are in the stream of Education keeping a good bond with the students plays a vital role. Our training in VEDIC facilitated our online teaching ensuring that the pace of academics did not slacken.

On the other hand in our attempt to hold hands, our regular communication with the students built a healthy relationship between student and the faculty. We were able to advice them regarding subject related matters and the stress that came with social distancing. Along with academics students are encouraged to upgrade their skill, VIT has collaborated with COURSERA offering many job oriented courses for free.

Faculty are upgrading themselves by learning emerging technologies, attending webinars and FDPs online. In my belief student should be strong and be ready to accept any situation in upcoming days. I think the most difficult part for the student is to make online learning as a habit. I expect we are going to experience Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in future. So, get ready folks to enjoy post Covid-19 circumstances.

I have tried live classes with short sprints

Faculty

Dr. Abhinav Dayal

[Faculty]

Computer Science & Engineering

Teaching completely online brings its own challenges. Over the last few years I have tried the concept of flipped classrooms, where I would ask students to watch video, do some exercises and come to class. However in most cases I found that students did not do the tasks unless we make them do in college by taking them to a lab. One of the reasons we found by an informal survey is that students were too tired after the long day in college to try anything. From my own experience of being a student, I have found that unless the in class experience was really engaging the student often loses energy than gaining enthusiasm and motivation. But if the in class experience is good, no amount of online experience can replace it, however some online activities can boost their in class experience.

Going completely online also we found that unless the live class is really good, students don't get that excited. They prefer to have a pre-recorded video to watch, followed by exercises and a live session for doubt clearing. At the same time we miss the direct contact with students where we can motivate students to carry on. If a student is not self motivated it is easy to take on to unfair means to clear quizzes without watching the video or faking to have watched the video. Going completely online means to work even harder with the course quality, the content, the assessments and the attractive achievable goals we give to students while participating in the course. Everything needs to be streamlined.

Not all students are sufficiently motivated. As an example I found not many students asking doubts. Moreover, the assignments etc., majority of students do not do and those who do, they do so after many many reminders over WhatsApp etc. One challenge we face is the lack of appropriate credits towards class participation and assignments. With 90% marks dedicated to few written exams like Mids and Finals, there is not enough sense of return one gets from the majority of time one spends in the learning process. This inertia is non linearly proportional to the amount of effort required to do the assignments etc. So I find a need for building a similar sense of accomplishment via peer pressure, badges, and other rewards that currently are lacking. In a proper university for example, one would have freedom to adjust the credit model as per the need of the instruction, however that alone is not sufficient.

Giving a live class or a pre-recorded video is very different from a face to face class. It requires a lot more energy and empathy for the audience. In face to face class, you can detect if students are following and improvise accordingly, however in a pre recorded class, it is simply not possible. As an alternative I have tried live classes with short sprints, say 20-30 minute class followed by 15-20 minute break during which they have to attempt a short quiz from concepts covered in that sprint. We can have 2-3 sprints in a single live session. This way students liked the delivery as it helped them to recollect and be present and at the same time, I get real time feedback of how students are performing. This is different from a live poll in a long continuous session. The break gave students some time of their own. This strategy also helped in terms of technology use, for example a simple youtube live session and Moodle / Google forms based quiz worked great instead of a zoom session that required greater bandwidth.

Following each class with an assignment and summary notes helped the students as well. Before this situation I always preferred a face to face class as it helps to build better connections with the audience. However now I like the facility to give a pre recorded video and tasks for students to do online. It works both ways. Students can watch at their own pace and repeatedly watch sections that they need to understand. The faculty can also give their best performance as they have the option to edit their video till they are satisfied. A live class online is more difficult than a live QA session unless the audience is interactive. Doing a face to face live doubt clearing session is good ( and online live can't fully replace it though ).

Counselling helps the student in achieving their cherished goals

Faculty

Dr. Ch. Rajya Lakshmi

[Faculty]

Basic Science

Initially I used to feel online teaching needs Advanced technology and works very effectively. This might be because every student who is learning through online sources have availability of resources, awareness on the internet and can use his or her own device at anytime and at any place. . If This kind of online teaching and learning methods are availed of, it will take a student into next level. This methodology helps student in achieving their advanced goals. Moreover. I used to feel the traditional way of teaching might restrict a student only to respective class rooms other than exposing to new kind of technology.

When this Lockdown came to our place, I was forced to start Online teaching. When I started I faced trouble somehow but now I am good at conducting classes through zoom platform, Google meet and Google classroom for sharing of material and assignment which is taken through quiz by google forms and kahoot.

When students started enjoying all these platforms, then I felt the same as I took up my teaching to next level. Although it became easy to convey all things that I wanted to share with the student, as a teacher I missed something i.e., satisfaction. I feel this satisfaction comes only from the direct response of the student. Teaching is not only delivering the concepts to students. The main role of teacher is to make the student self disciplined and counselling helps the student in achieving their cherished goals. In online teaching the main drawback I have observed is lack of student discipline. In addition to this, I have faced trouble in counselling the students. I didn't get students response properly. This is the reason why I felt face to face social interaction is important for teaching! May be a combination of face to face and online teaching would be the solution.

Out of the blue, we all are restricted to stay homes due to this pandemic situation. Within a short span of time, I have come to know that handling the situation is not as easy as ABC. Though technology is not a grey area for me, I have mixed feelings of handling the classes for I B. Tech students. I like a proverb, "Be a Roman in Rome". I slowly started changing my strategies according to the things which are taking place in this Educational sector. I am blessed to work in VIT as I learn many a thing regarding teaching technological tools by attending ample number of workshops conducted by VEDIC.

Having all the technological tools convenient I work as cool as cucumber from home. With my teaching experience and learnt technological tools, I teach students like icing on the cake. Students with deaf ears come on to the track through Google Forms, students with cold feet are moulded with Mirror AI App, teaching comfortably through YouTube as I have 1K subscribes, assessments become easier with Socrative, Go-formative, Canvas, etc. Totally I become very busy as a bee for my professional development as well as teaching online. It is all possible because of our leadership as they told a little bridle to us i.e. using technology. Given access to Coursera was really different kettle of fish; I have completed 12 courses and waiting for 3 specializations to complete and facilitating the students with skills I have already acquired and what I am obtaining now.

At the outset, I say that my continuous professional development meets the requirements of students in the present scenario.

Like our elders said "Things will not be perfect or go as we would wish". We have to accept what comes to us under these extreme conditions. This situation brings a lot of change in education and teaching. Online teaching was confined to cities and metros before Covid19 but now there is a great shift in teaching formats very quickly even in rural areas.

One thing I come to know is that there are some great resources to be used during this time which I did not previously hear and use. I learned that I'm more technologically competent than I thought.

COVID-19 has a great impact on the education of all category of students right from KG to PG under the umbrella of Sri Vishnu Educational Society. We, the ECE faculty of Vishnu Institute of Technology are positively triggered and motivated to take education through online mode. We reached the students, irrespective of their locations, door-to-door through Zoom meeting, Google Meet, GoToWebinar apps and many more. As a solution to the remotely located students (with poor internet connectivity), our faculty provided short materials (pdfs, notes) and later had discussion at announced date and time. This pandemic has made us learn, upgrade and transform ourselves from known to unknown by attending webinars, FDP, Coursera/Udemy/Tata Steel courses etc. In fact, the learning is slowly transforming to reach everyone.

Furthermore, the pandemic has brought in challenges irrespective of anything that exists starting from sharing of knowledge to participation in several ideathons / competitions. It's not only theoretical subjects that are dealt with, our department has also brought the labs (circuit labs) to home through virtual lab concept. Most interesting fact, I would like to share is that pre-COVID we were too traditional and post-COVID we are accepting the need of being interdisciplinary. There is still lot more to be focused. Finally, all these (online practices) could happen, because of our visionary management and the VEDIC almost 3 years back.

It's not only academics that are dealt with, we are alsofocusing on the well-being of the student fraternity. Faculty takes the pride in speaking with the students, the parents - by constantly motivating and ensuring positiveness within. Through this online mode of interacting with students, I was able to see that students are able to communicate with their mentors/faculty freely though many of them may miss the physical face-to-face communication. COVID-19 has separated us PHYSICALLY, but thanks to the technology that COVID -19 has connected us REMOTELY. We are learning to accept the change.

ONLY COLLEGE BUILDINGS ARE CLOSED NOT LEARNING

Second week of March, 2020, everything was set for II, III and IV B.Tech students. Syllabus was completed and the Internal Lab Exams were ready to start but there was a little confusion outside about the chaos being created by COVID 19. For me, it all started on 22nd March, 2020 with Janata Curfew, when we were asked to resort to "Work from Home", and all the scheduled exams were postponed.

In a situation like this where everyone is restricted to their homes, we are able to connect with our students and mentor them. It was all possible because of the training provided by VEDIC on various digital pedagogy tools. With the knowledge and skills we gained by attending various workshops in VEDIC we devised a strategy to mentor students continuously. We started conducting online classes using Zoom / Google Meet. Keeping in continuous contact with students by whatsapp groups and personally calling the students when necessary. We recorded videos on complex topics and shared them with students. Quizzes (using Google forms) are conducted on every topic after the Zoom / Google Meet is finished.

Few problems we faced with online classes are

  • Sudden changes in the mode of teaching, where we cannot see the students directly and we hardly know whether students understand the contents being taught.
  • Keeping track of students who are attending the class on a platform where students join and leave the class at any time.
  • As a solution to the first problem we started conducting timed quizzes to evaluate the understanding of concepts by students. For the second problem we started collecting the attendance of students using, Meet Attendance plug-in.

This is one dimension in which students of VIT are supported in this critical time. In another dimension our Management has provided free access to Coursera certificate courses to faculty and students. Students and Faculty grabbed this opportunity, and it is not an exaggeration to say that almost every student has completed and got certified at least in a couple of courses especially in the domains like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the month of April, 2020. Throughout this period, our Principal Sir is continuously motivating and guiding all the faculty members.

At times, I was unable to get any responses from the student end whenever questions were raised. I had to strive to make them more attentive, so that there was good interactive communication between me and students. Some of the students are attending the classes very regularly.

I feel that it should be made mandatory for our students to switch on the video , so that they would be more attentive in future. Online classes had given me immense pleasure.

Adjusting to online teaching and social distancing with a mask on the nose is a unique experience for me . I never experienced such a situation in my life . Learning is continuous process in human life. My first thought was how to reach my students online.

Consequently, I have started my search for tools. Sri Vishnu Educational Society and Vishnu Institute of technology have offered several trainings to our faculty on this subject in the past, that helped me a lot. We came to know that for online teaching Zoom and Webex are useful softwares. While arranging study materials and conducting assignments and quiz Google class and Google meet and what's app are useful.

Being a team head l have conducted several meetings with our department faculty members while preparing optimal work schedules for our students. I created an awareness among my students by sharing the information with them, so that it enabled them to get connected to my scheduled classes. I motivated my students regarding their career and I tried to increase their confidence levels to overcome the fear of covid19 Pandemic.

Empowerment is the keyword

Faculty

Dr. V. Rama Devi

[Faculty]

Basic Science

If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.

This is absolutely true of Sri Vishnu Educational Society.

Empowerment is the keyword. This is what I observed as we faculty and students alike responded to the "VUCA" world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity we were thrust in due to Covid 19. Fears were tangible but we already had a support system in this crisis. Thanks to our Chairman Sir, all the faculty had been trained at VEDIC (Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Centre) in scientific educational practices and technology enabled teaching. This training made our transition to online teaching smooth at a time when many institutions just started the process. It was a continuously evolving process for our team as we adopted synchronous learning, asynchronous learning, hybrid classes and flipped classes using different learning management systems, online tools for instruction, assessment, providing feedback, mentoring and connecting with the students and parents at remote places, not to mention the industry interaction.

Another dimension to this empowerment is the initiative of our Management to provide access to Coursera certificate courses free of cost to all the faculty and students. This helped us not only to develop our knowledge and skills but also provided multiple perspectives of the best teaching online practices. This helped us to standardize our online teaching. The students also are provided with the best platform to acquire knowledge and skills from the best of world class organizations. And so was the establishment of the Psychology Department reaching out to one and all through videos, talks, programs and counselling helping to maintain the emotional quotient.

I would say that this empowerment of the faculty and students at VIT has enabled all of us to embrace change positively. It is not that we did not have setbacks, but we learnt to take them in our stride and transform them into learning opportunities. From the confines of the containment zone to which I am restricted due to Covid 19 to the limitless boundaries of the virtual classes my journey has been eventful. It is rightly said, Our choices of today determine the options of tomorrow.

I am adjusting to on-line learning but it has been a process to undergo. When the College announced that we would be on-line for the remaining semester, I started using Zoom software for teaching. Each time I have used Zoom,I feel difficult at first but now I have got accustomed to this pandemic situation.

I am amazed at the fact that 90% of the students are able to join the sessions, and attendance is almost in line with regular classes. All teething problems are faded and we go to excel in this teaching and learning process Only thing I feel in my mind is I miss my students as well as my colleagues. I love to teach in the classroom and engage them in discussions and hands on activities. As a Professor, I miss my day-to-day interactions and conversations with students inside and outside the classroom.

Online learning is a different platform. Although I have spent much time to do things, I am not acquainted to follow a specific schedule which forces me to manage my time and avoid procrastination much more than I did while going to regular classes.

Many students get accustomed to traditional learning in today's educational system. They may not find time to learn on their own and do some online courses that interest them. But this pandemic gave many of us the opportunity to learn on our own and explore some areas of our interest apart from the regular academics. On that note, I am very grateful to our college Vishnu Institute of Technology as it is providing free online courses. Neither this pandemic nor the lockdown stopped us from learning. Our faculty motivated us to take part in these online classes.

They not only helped us to learn more but also brought us out of that feeling where we missed the classes, college, and peers. As a CAP student, I am very much benefitted through this form of online education. Our faculty have conducted some live video sessions as a part of it and we are working hard on our training really well to improve ourselves in every aspect possible.

Apart from these, the CRT training is also going very well without a pause. Our faculty always keep students' priority at the top. We are now part of more sessions conducted by the college everyday like the Group discussions and the Mock Interviews. The lockdown in the beginning was a lot of chaos but due to this online program we are able to spend our time in a disciplined way and dedicate most of time in studies like how we do in usual college days. I sincerely appreciate the efforts that our institute have been putting in making these successful.

The world has never expected it would be gripped with fear because of a small virus. The virus taught people unprecedented lessons. It is a great lesson that this pandemic has changed the world especially in the area of teaching replacing old ways of teaching with new methods. In my experience, earlier students were confined to the classrooms, prescribed textbooks and were not thinking out of box. Even I was in the same mould. Thanks to my Chairman sir and management for their wonderful vision in training us through VEDIC that we made our teaching student centric adopting technology. Hence we were prepared to take on the online mode of teaching. This teaching takes lots of careful planning and meticulous design, yet it made my job easier. It created interest and wonderful ideas for both students and faculty. And I believe it is a blessing for me to adapt new teaching technologies and create wonders.

During this COVID, I used many online platforms and tools such as Zoom, Google meet, Google classroom to connect to people from different areas. I am trying my best to make students attend these classes and I counsel students every time to get habituated to these classes due to the present circumstances. More importantly, I learned the value of social interaction. I will be glad when we all can be back together again on campus.

I never thought that we will be in a situation like this pandemic. I never thought all the regular education activities which I do in college can be done even now. We the students enter a new world of video lectures and online education.

In the beginning, I felt quite stressed about these activities as it felt like we are working for more time compared to the usual time I do in college. Since we are in a different atmosphere now it is sometimes hard for us to concentrate at full pace owing to situations at home. But we surely are getting accustomed to it every day taking one step at a time.

We are getting better each day. In the wake of this emergency, I am very thankful to my college as they shifted their all educational activities online very fast. Many activities like CAP training, CRT training, and classes are going as usual online. I never felt bad for the things happening right now as our faculty is encouraging to learn the things online even in a better and efficient way. Our faculty encouraged us to learn various courses online and never let us down in this situation.

BEFORE COVID

Students used to wait for me to start the class. While entering the class I would look for them to stand up and honour me. I would stare at the people until they settled down. Lecture notes in one hand and chalk piece in the other hand I revise previous lecture and delivered my class. I would draw a diagram roughly and explain the concept repeatedly so that at least half of the concept was injected into their brains. And I would catch those who act as if they are listening and posing them some questions. (Of course I am the one who used to do like this in my earlier days), laughing within. Later, in our college, we were trained in using technology in our instruction and I used it to complement my teaching. I am very interested in offline teaching since we can have many examples to deliver and we have so much of time.

AFTER COVID

This online teaching makes me to wait for the students to come online. At first teaching in online was never easy for me since I was not habituated to it. In online teaching I felt that I was doing more work rather than students. I struggled with teaching derivations, writing on a paper, scanning it and again uploading it for screen-sharing. There were moments of frustration and irritation when sometimes some say that app is good, this app is good some people should have that operating system. Sometimes the students will have connectivity problem, some students won't login, and some login by muting their own audio and video. I have a doubt if they really are following me or not. Online, we don't have much time, so we can't explain with many examples, and we have to conclude with in prescribed time. Then I started sharing all that I wanted to teach through Google classroom.

But once I was habituated, this is slowly becoming interesting, learning many technical aspects Even students are sharing their new ideas on technology in which we are lagging behind. Of course! I don't shy learning from them since I can use those techniques in my next online teaching.
I understand that this Online learning has got both advantages and disadvantages. But to compete with the world we need to adapt new teaching/learning techniques. I am definitely not the teacher I used to be once.

Online learning - this word sounds little tricky and a little surprise to me. But it is the only solution that can be implemented right now in educational institutions to continue our studies in this difficult time. At first, when I started learning online classes, it is quite difficult because I had to check my gmail, google classroom and watching the videos again and again until I get the concept. Once I began to get in the swing of things, things began to seem okay. But overall it is going well now. I am disappointed that we had to move online because I really love going to my campus and seeing my friends, professors and sitting surrounded by my peers. I really love to interact with my professors. The things that have been really bothering me the most are just staying all the time inside and missing a lot of joy and physical conversations with my friends.

But once I began to accept this difficult situation and tried to move on with this situation I understood that there is a lot of time and I found that, being in somewhat of a quarantine and lockdown has minimized the distractions so I really have to focus on all of my assignments and classes.Technology is a huge part of our lives, and this is the thing which gonna change our lives. And when we started forming small groups and working on our projects and assignments, this technology is really helping us a lot, we can still communicate with those who are not physically with us, so we can still stay in touch.

And I hope that this lockdown can only lock us physically, it can't lock our intelligence, still we can do wonders with our intelligence by using Technology.

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed and upended our lives more swiftly than we could have imagined. It has changed the way we live, study, work, and connect with each other. This will be an exceptional year for every student as we have never seen a situation like this before and may not see even after. In these uncertain times of pandemic, I came to learn that we have to be like "survival of the fittest".

The current situation is likely to have a large impact on our studies. So we should go in an organized and efficient way to be the best of all. This pandemic gives me the opportunity and time to learn many new courses apart from academics which I could not do in my regular life. Frankly, our faculty is the main reason to stand still in this pandemic situation.

They gave us all the inputs and encouraged us to learn online. One thing that makes me happy is that I am close to my family and also not neglecting my studies and improving my learning day by day.

As we are all aware that the world is shut due to COVID-19, so were the colleges. I am a quite outgoing person and I do miss attending classes with my friends. At first I thought online sessions would be boring, so I wasn't much keen on it. After a couple of online classes, I have changed my thought. Online sessions actually helped me to interact with my friends and faculty during this lock-down from my own comfort zone.

Though, there were some issues with the network for a couple of days, later on it went on well. Our faculty made efforts to make sessions interesting and informative by sharing videos and animations related to the subject. Even our project discussions and reviews happened through online platforms. As I was left with enough time, I started investing some time in learning new skills as suggested by our faculty. Instead of being idle, I also started working on my physique and I am doing meditation which helped me to be more focussed and committed. I sincerely thank our faculty, HOD Sir and the entire management for their immense support extended during this pandemic.

Hope to see you all soon once this lock-down gets over.

Switching to online learning due to COVID-19 has definitely forced me to adjust. Although the majority of my classes are not too difficult to switch online, I still do miss the interactive aspect of in-class learning.

Online classes are being conducted by the respective subject's faculty and these online classes are being very helpful during this lockdown period. Online classes are more convenient when compared to regular classes. The only drawback in online classes is that it completely depends on the internet.

Online learning also has a completely different structure. Although I have more time to do things, I am not required to follow a specific schedule which forces me to manage my time and avoid procrastination much more than I did while going to regular classes. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed education forever. From the past few months, we are facing the pandemic situation (covid-19) all over the world. This covid-19 has resulted in shut down of all the schools and colleges across the world. As a result, education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, where the teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms.

Due to this lock period our Vishnu college came to a solution to conduct the online classes for the students. This online education system makes the students gain more knowledge than before. At the beginning, online classes were a little hard for us. But as the classes are being conducted regularly, it became easy for us to attend the classes.

In this period of covid-19, not only the online classes but also many courses like Coursera etc came into the force which helped us to get certificates which gives weight to our C.V. Due to this covid-19 crisis we the students of Vishnu are missing our wonderful college, faculty, friends and happy days which we usually spend in our college. Hope this lock down ends soon and we have a wonderful future in our lives.

So, the students can refer to the material whenever they need . More interaction will be there with faculty and co-students. Students are getting immense help from the online classes. The technical skills of the students are improved.

We learned to make the best use of the technology and to develop our own skills like sharing documents and audio/video materials. Students are able to utilize their free time very well in this lockdown period. Variety of programs and courses are introduced such as Coursera. These certification courses are very useful and helpful for the students bright future. The faculty members are very supportive and they are trying their best to teach and co-operate with the students during online classes.

Maximum portion of the syllabus is completed and getting revised in online classes. This time is very crucial for the students and I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT MY COLLEGE IS THE BEST OF ALL TIMES.

COVID 19 has an immense impact on the pedagogy of Indian education system and abruptly it turned the path of Technocratic Teaching Learning process irrespective of the poor and the rich, rural or urban and U.G and P.G. In view of this idea the monitoring agencies like AICTE, UGC also strongly instructed the institutions to organiz virtual classes for the students.

COVID 19 has brought immense change in the education system of Vishnu Institute of Technology. We, Department of Basic Science have positively triggered and motivated the I B.Tech students to take education through online mode. We have taken different steps for providing quality education to students through online mode like Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom and You Tube Live. We are also conducting online Quiz through Kahoot, Edpuzzle, Quizlet for assessing their subject knowledge.

I set myself right in this technocratic world to deliver my content to the B.Tech., students in my Institute. I have gone through various ICT tools for fitting my subject to deliver effectively for all the category of the students. Since I am a faculty of Mathematics, I have been using PPT, Multimedia videos, Zoom, You Tube, Google Classroom etc.accordingly. My aim is that the student is to be benefitted at the end. Learning online was somewhat difficult when compared with classroom learning. In the past days we used to learn in classrooms through blackboards, while our lecturers were teaching live, we gained a lot of confidence. We have very good relations with our lecturers and we can discuss freely with them. I'm disappointed that we had to move to online learning because I really like coming to the campus and seeing my lecturers and other students. At the beginning of online classes I didn't adjust quickly but, it took a while to be a part of this. While I started learning online, I noticed that I'm entering into a new technical world, the online classes were going on with knowledge and motivation, the options are quite comfortable but sometimes there are some technical issues, few days are rough with lot of assignments and presentations but, I get done because of my determination and hard work. Because of these online classes technically I learned a lot.

The classes were going like the second's hand in the clock as well as with an understandable explanation and prescribed material. Online classes play a crucial role in improving the social distancing criteria. By accessing softcopies shared, the students will improve their technical knowledge.

All the assignments are graded on the spot online without any loss of time. I have attended the face-to-face meetings everyday though various online meeting apps. We all are clarifying our doubts after the completion of class. After getting habituated to the online classes we are eagerly waiting to learn new things about technology. Things are getting harder, knowledge is going deeper. Learning online can create innovative ideas and we can gain knowledge more and more. As a technical student I'll say that these online learning was really helpful for present generation students.

The COVID-19 (Corona Virus) is the first and foremost health crisis which we have not faced till now and as a result, the entire world including India comes to a standstill. The rate at which the virus spread has constrained the government to shut down educational institutions and the entire education system got paralyzed. The conventional Indian education system follows face-to-face education and neither the faculty nor the students have been forced to adopt online teaching so far. But the present scenario has driven everyone to go online for teaching and learning.

We, the faculty of Sri Vishnu Educational Society have been trained on various Learning Management Systems at VEDIC. The training on scientific educational practices, technology enabled teaching through Google classroom, video material preparation and conducting online classes using Zoom and other technologies enabled our transition to online teaching very smoothly and tension free. Thanks to our Chairman Sir and Vice-chairman Sir for their vision, without them we would not have reached the students online.

Teaching and learning is a continuous process. We strongly believe in it and make the students alo believe by having online interactive classes, making them take tests and providing the solutions through online discussions. This continuous evaluation does not allow any student to slip from academics even staying at a remote location. I once again thank our management for providing access to Coursera online certificate courses for encouraging and providing opportunity for faculty as well as students to empower and develop knowledge in multidisciplinary domains even. This helped everyone to observe, adopt and standardize online teaching and learning methods besides acquiring a certificate. I personally feel that this scenario is not a threat but an opportunity to move to the next level and strengthen our skills in making ourselves the better and the best.

Since the lockdown being announced on 23rd March, we at VISHNU are in continuous touch with our students through many platforms such as WhatsApp groups and online classes. We thank the vision of our Chairman Sir who started VEDIC three years ago. In these pandemic times the training we had undergone at VEDIC really helped us to quickly adopt to the culture of online teaching. Along with my colleagues I attended several LMS workshops too in the last one month that further fortified our online teaching skills. We received an equally good response from the students who are enthusiastic about using technology. They are more focussed and optimistic and are doing online courses like coursera.

One interesting thing is that we explored an open source software called LTSPICE using which we can even conduct most of our electronics related labs freely. We organised a webinar to train our faculty as well as our students so that they can install LTSPICE and start doing various experiments and verify the results through virtual simulations.

Before the pandemic I never thought of giving a lecture online, but now I am not only giving online lectures but also attending workshops, FDPs online. So nothing is impossible, only thing is that we should have the inclination to start. This pandemic definitely opened new frontiers for the teachers to explore and we at VISHNU are ready to explore them with much enthusiasm.

Negative Capability is when man is capable of being in uncertainties, and people require to experience the world as an uncertain place that naturally gives rise to a wide array of perspectives.

The pandemic has transformed the centuries-old, chalk-talk teaching model to one driven by technology. This situation should become an opportunity to update ourselves to reach the student community with different teaching methodologies. In this context, I am very thankful to our visionary management for initiating 'VEDIC'. I gained a lot knowledge regarding technological tools from various training programs organized by VEDIC, which is extremely beneficial to me in this state of disruption in reaching out the students to conduct online group discussions and Mock interviews etc.

Multifaceted strategies are the need of the hour to manage this crisis and build a resilient education system in the long term. Open-source digital learning solutions should be adopted and effective educational practice is what is needed for the capacity-building of young minds. It will develop skills that will drive their employability, productivity, health, and well-being in the decades to come, and ensure the overall progress of India.

Online teaching is not my favourite way to teach because along with learning, social skills and emotional connect plays a major role in the learning process. However, in the present situation, online learning is inevitable for teachers as well as for students. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing 100% E-learning at VIT, Bhimavaram. We are fortunate that our Management has initiated VEDIC (Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Center), which is an exclusive teaching-learning center, established for the benefit of Students and Faculty. Through VEDIC, our entire faculty are provided training on various modern pedagogy tools. Thanks to VEDIC for providing such a platform for faculty to implement blended learning in our teaching.

COVID-19 opens up a whole new world of opportunities. Entire world is looking at India as an alternate manufacturing hub (published in Business today article on April 22, 2020). This opens up huge opportunities for core engineers. Due to lockdown, the student placements and trainings are severely affected. However, we are overcoming this difficulty by collaborating with online training partners like Conduira, Talentsprint, DassaultSystemes, ARC and Cocubes. Day to day assessments are done through our Vishnuplacements portal which helps our students to strengthen in weak areas. Apart from academics and placement training, Students are also doing online certification courses through Coursera, NPTEL and a lot more to strengthen their Curriculum-Vitae.

In this scenario, the education sector in India has forwarded to 3 to 5 years. I feel E-learning is going to be an asset to educational institutions. However, start-up opportunities are numerous after COVID. My sincere suggestion to all the students is to make effective use of the online resources and be prepared for campus recruitments. This is the right time to take action! An inch of movement will bring you closer to your goals than a mile of intention (Dr. Steve Maraboli).

Social distancing and online teaching are something very new to me. Online classes made me to re-think about the scope beyond the traditional classroom teaching. Even though I had flipped the classroom earlier for bringing out more doubt clarification sessions with students, the kind of ordeal by this pandemic has taught everyone to learn and discover new ideas in exploring the methods of online teaching. Usually, I love direct interactions with students in the classroom.

Online classes with Zoom seemed confusing in the beginning like, Are the students really interested and engaged in my class? This question prompted me to explore the ways to make the class more interactive and making students engage in the lecture. One such idea is that the students are asked questions to answer while the class is going on and I also ask them to showcase their ideas through the screen sharing option or a whiteboard.

Moreover, every student in the class needs proper care and attention. By understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each student, the level of questions were asked and discussed. Thus, student shows their interest in the class and eventually I love to deliver online classes for my students.

Learning is a never ending journey for every human being on earth irrespective of age profession or designation. This truth got imprinted in my mind during this COVID period. Before the pandemic, I used technology to complement my teaching as I strongly believed in the physical presence of a teacher and students which makes the teaching learning process effective. Every act was like a ritual: brain storming, writing on the classroom board, sharing hard copies of resources, and giving weekly assignments. I identified myself as a teacher meant only for teaching.

Now, after the LOCKDOWN started, the idea of me being a teacher has changed to a Learner. Just as everyone did, I took to using Zoom for my classes. The first few times I went live, I faced problems like, muting all the students and sharing the screen, one or the other student will start scribbling on the screen which is irritating, not because they are writing but, because we cannot find the perpetrator. As the present generation student is a discoverer of many things, while counseling my batch of students on zoom, I grasped the dos and don'ts of using ZOOM. Then I started searching all the pins and tabs to conduct a full-fledged class. This is the beginning of me as Learner.

I started preparing the PPTs effectively for enabling the students to understand the concept as easily as done in the physical Class Room. During my 3rd session, I also made use of annotation (By disabling the annotation for participants) while explaining concepts in the PPT. Next I prepared a Video of my lecture and shared it in the online class and started monitoring the students by entering with a mobile into my account. I am experimenting with technology and online pedagogy in different ways responding to the student requirements which gives me the satisfaction of being able to use my time productively.

Covid-19 Pandemic made the Teachers and Students go online. The funniest thing is once teachers used to give punishment when the students used mobile phones, today they are appreciating and encouraging the students to use the same. Thanks to technology, by which not only teaching and learning but also evaluation is happening using tools like Google Classroom, Google Forms and Kahoot and we are also talking of proctored assessments.

As all of know, the mobile phone became an organ of our body, I think today we learned how to use this organ wisely and effectively. Most of the students and teachers, who are far from Technology are also able to connect through online platform where Seminars became Webinars and Classrooms became Google Classrooms and most important is that people are enjoying. So I think Reality became Virtuality. I hope this tough situation will ease after a few days and I think we will continue the online teaching to complete some part of the course duly so that we will continue to get the benefits of Technology.

My experience with online teaching and learning had taken a 1800 phase shift before and after the pandemic.

For years, I thought the traditional teaching was effective when compared with online teaching. The training given by Vedic helped me imbibe the pedagogy for online teaching frame work. The procedure was made simple to teach online. In the beginning, students were reluctant to attend online classes, but with motivation and encouragement, I could see a marked increase in student participation. Not only teaching, I am also learning a lot through many online classes and online courses.

My observations from online teaching:
1)Since the strain of either way commute from home to college was not there students remained active.
2)Students today are habituated for online education and they are spending more time perusing the resources provided when compared to traditional practices.

Currently I am handling Elements of Electrical Engineering (EEEE) subject for I year A & B sections of Mechanical Department. I have changed my teaching style completely to online because of this pandemic situation. The biggest adjustment for me is not seeing my students. I love being in the classroom with my students and engaging them in discussion. Switching completely to the online learning environment has not been too difficult for me since I have used online tools for delivering lectures in Connect program. Moreover, it became very easy because as I use some of the online tools like Google classroom, Kahoot, Google quiz etc., regularly in conjunction with my face-to-face classes. I am a part of video lecture of electrical machines-I lab. All this is possible because I became familiar with these online tools with the help of VEDIC in our society.

For every class, I teach, I always use Google classroom where students share their work and can access resources. I now use Zoom and Google meet for instructing the students online. I feel, taking class in Zoom is more comfortable. I used to take two sessions for each class. In the first week, it had been tough for attracting all the students to online class, later all the students are joining the class according to their timings. I am also providing animation videos through Ed-puzzle.

I am conducting quizzes through Kahoot, Google quiz & Google form also. Students submit assignments through Google classroom and whatsapp. I am also able to note the attendance of the students participating in the online class on each day. At the end of each class/session, I am taking feedback, also asking queries in the middle of the class. Overall, online teaching is a very good experience for me. The most important thing for me is to make sure my students know that I am there to work with them and help them.

Little did I realise that all those animated discussions with colleagues in our campus cafeterias about e-learning tools that each one us has been experimenting with, would eventually help us pull our socks up , embrace and adapt to the myriad hues of e-learning ecosystem in an otherwise dreary and uncertain time. While there is no denying the fact, that the genesis of a new found energy and motivation through Faculty-student, Mentor-Mentee interaction in face to face classrooms cannot be replicated in virtual classrooms, during this pandemic, we still have found ways to spike up the levels of our feel good hormones Serotonin and Melatonin via a phased individual as well as batch wise Zoom conference and Google meet interaction with our students.

Thanks to all the In-house VEDIC Faculty training programs, our Management and Director rekindled the spirit of finding an opportunity in threat, we felt empowered not only to fight COVID-19, but also to foray into full time online teaching. The transition has been smooth for me. Whenever I am stuck while using a tool, our CRT team sent lady luck arrives in my inbox in the form of VEDIC PDF flyers with new insights into making my online pedagogy more immersive .The moment our Prime minister addressed the nation about an impending lock down , the entire nation was busy making a beeline outside super markets to stock up their essentials for three months, while I was frantically downloading all the online Teaching, Learning apps as if they would disappear from Google play store . I could continue to draw and teach from an entire plethora of teaching learning applications like Moodle, Edpuzzle, Edmodo, Proprofs, Audible, soundcloud, Podcasts,Quizlet ,Mindmaps ,the list is endless. While we wait with fingers crossed to quantify the efficacy of our online training sessions in the ensuing year, I do make a sincere effort to remain optimistic as a teacher responsible for the future of my dear students.

I miss my reading time in a secluded corner overseeing our campus lake, during my break from work and the comfort of Vermilon Leather seats in our Digital Library , the sounds of cranes flapping their wings around the gurgling water rising up from our campus marble fountains and the sight of guardian angel statues greeting us upon entering the campus every morning, the echoing sound systems of our Innovation centre and the humming of our gigantic Central A.C ducts, the joy of seeing my students in action with just a monosyllable instruction, I am always deeply engrossed in a patriotic admiration of my place of work the Vishnu campus. I can't wait to get back to my citadel, Vishnu Institute of Technology.

Online teaching is very much helping me to improve my skills technically as well as to communicate with my students though not physically with me but by seeing them in Zoom and Google Meet classes in these unfortunate days.

First week I felt a little bit difficult and stressed to work more mentally through internet sources. But I took it as a challenge to change myself from class room teaching to online teaching to reach my students for better understanding.

Thanks for the opportunity that has been provided by our management to learn things new and to teach. Faculty is not only for teaching but also for learning new concepts. Our management gave an access to do online courses, so that our minds may be enriched by new teachings.

This proved true in my case.

"Examinations postponed" was the message which kept us at home. The lockdown announcement meant staying at home for more days. Days could not just go on dull and boring. The online classes started. Initially it was difficult making a transition. Videos were shared, resources uploaded. We had assignments to test our learning. It was challenging.

The thing I learned from my college VISHNU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is to be curious and to think out of the box. We were taught to think both laterally and logically. So whatever the process or way of teaching, we did not bother and concentrated on learning. But we were literally missing the beautiful surroundings of our college and the little mischievous things we did. We missed the campus and our friends leading to moments of frustration when the Psychology department stepped in. They advised us on stress free creative learning which has helped us a lot. Our professors are helping us by delivering online lectures, providing e learning resources and references for better understanding. The assignments which are given by them are so helpful and we are trained how to utilize social media.

A great experience has been provided to us in this lockdown period due to COVID-19. We feel that this is a step for digitalization of the world in future. All said and done, we are missing the beauty of our college natural environment a lot.

Online classes make us more comfortable when compared with regular classes conducted in colleges. Self discipline is improved in us while attending online classes. The stress levels should be decreased by online classes.

We have a lot of time to learn when compared to regular timings of colleges. In online classes students places a lot of concentration on studies when compared to classes conducted in colleges. Our focus on online classes is increased.

We, the students, who are fast in studies can complete their works fast and then use the remaining time to learn more and the students who are backward in studies have their own time to complete their work. Students can learn conveniently and fast in a friendly environment when compared to a closed classroom. Online classes increases self paced learning in students.

The most positive thing about COVID-19 is that we can spend a plenty of time with the whole family. COVID-19 has brought a major change in our daily routine including the teaching techniques. We have switched over to online learning. We are in a dilemma that is this a blessing or a curse?? If my turn is to choose among these; I say, both i.e; it is a blessing and a curse. Online learning is not my favorite way to learn. To be frank and honest, I don't think I would have ever imagined saying I miss being in a classroom listening to a lecture. But, to my astonishment there is something about being in a class with other students learning the material that helps learning the information to the fullest.

Here, even though this is not my favorite way, there is an advantage of online learning that as the class work time is less we can focus more on our practice. We can learn a number of courses in our leisure. And also due to this online learning, we the students get improved because we need to gather information from different sources as the teachers cannot be at our back as in the college, even though we can just ping them if we cannot understand the topic. We will be gaining responsibility to complete the work on time as there is much time for us. Teachers and management are choosing the best ways to teach us online through zoom classes, posting assignments in Google classroom, asking us to complete various courses in other websites etc.

But the day-to-day interactions are different from this online class structure. Being stuck at home for the whole day cannot be a simple thing as we are not used to this since childhood. Switching to online learning due to COVID-19 has definitely forced us to adjust. And also these online classes cannot be much effective as day to day classes because of certain problems considering the net connectivity problems. I would say that that even in this worst pandemic condition our management is trying to give the best to us. We, the students as there is no other way , should get adjusted to this structure so that we can learn something new!!

The worldwide outbreak of COVID-19 has brought a lot of changes in human life particularly in students. COVID-19 is a pandemic disease. Due to this we have to stay at homes and maintain social distance and are unable to go out.

In this situation students are facing great trouble in studies due to shutdown of colleges. But our college i.e Vishnu institute of Technology is doing a great job in preparing students not only for exams and is also making us confident even in this kind of situation. The faculty started online classes and are interacting with students and they keep on motivating us. They are even conducting online discussions and placement training and teaching us how to use technology in an effective manner to get ready for the future. Being an MBA student I also trying to improve my communication skills by using various online platforms.

Though we are learning in online classes we want our classes to restart because physical interaction and face to face communication are the better ways of learning and teaching. We are missing our classroom fun, friends and beloved faculty members.

Online learning is one of the ways for learning during this critical lock down time. It is a typical situation for engineering students whose goal is to create new things. Our campus environment and the class arrangement give the focus on the teaching and the topic reaches in to our brains without any other distracting thoughts . We can directly interact with our faculty for clarification of our small questions which we may chance in our day to day learning.

Our doubts are clarified in a second by the direct interaction and our thoughts will be free and we can move to the next topic. This I feel is proper education for a bright student. As a mechanical student learning machine technology online, I miss the sense of touch while handling the equipment. Touching and feeling the machinery with my hands is live experience for me and it gives me the confidence for inventing new things. It is this interaction that I do miss a lot.

One thing I really feel bad for is the divide among the students who are able to afford technology and those who are not able to. Technology is no doubt an equalizer. But the question is affordability. My heart goes out to those who cannot afford to buy a smart mobile and bear the expenses of data consumption to continue their education. I hope technology develops to find an easier and affordable way to access online education.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, companies have been cancelling interviews. We expect 60- 65 per cent interviews getting dropped or delayed as there is lockdown in many parts of the country. In this kind of situation, through our Vishnu Placement team, I received an interview call from HR of Piaggio company. They interviewed me through the Microsoft Team. This COVID-19 has brought many significant changes in every walk of human life including teaching and learning. It is a blessing in disguise, if we look at a few things in a positive way. Teaching and learning is an incessant process. Technology replaced traditional teaching in this crucial period. Coming to my life, I got new experience with virtual teaching. With the support of my college, I am conducting online classes successfully. My students are very interested in virtual learning and participating actively in the learning process. I am utilizing this time productively by learning new courses on the international online platform. I am attending various workshops, webinars to update my knowledge.

Evaluation is an integral part in the teaching and learning process. Even though class work is going through online mode, I am assessing students' skills in each and every stage and encouraging students to think critically in problem-solving and giving assignments. VISHNU Institutions does not compromise in providing quality education to the students. I am happy to say that, I am directing students towards learning the subject and encouraging them by imparting quality teaching.

Online classes have emerged as a new way of learning for us. Suddenly there was a shift away from the classroom and teaching began on remote digital platforms. This was happening all around the globe. A glance around reveals that many educational institutions are turning online. It leaves us wondering how long online instruction would persist post-pandemic.

I have seen that other students also started to adjust to this pandemic situation and they are also attending the online sessions regularly. We ourselves tried to get into this chain. Initially we struggled to adjust ourselves, we got stuck in a tricky situation when the online classes were started, but we were able to overcome because of the motivation of our faculty. Later on due to continuous online sessions we started adjusting our time and realized that in a way we are preparing for our future. Moreover with these classes we are experiencing new transformations with online courses. Being a tech savvy generation, we realized the potential of technology as we began to use Zoom and Google meet as our tools to connect. We analyzed ourselves and gained a lot of confidence. I believe that this change in us is very important during this pandemic situation. Yet online education does have its own challenges. Some students without reliable internet access and/or technology struggle to participate in digital learning.

On the personal level, I have learnt time management and to be responsible during this quarantine. I am strictly following quarantine measures and am committed to stay at home. I am habituated a lot to technology during this lockdown period. Hope you are all doing the same to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Hope, we are all going to meet back again in the campus.

During this time of pandemic situation traditional classroom teaching became very difficult to tackle, but by the rapid growth of technology and with the support of the organisation learning and teaching became easy. As I belong to CRT department, use of technology and technological tools in teaching concepts has been practiced in the traditional classroom before this pandemic.

This practice has helped us a lot in teaching the students in an effective way in the times of this calamity. I have personally learnt a lot using different software tools to teach students and also with the help of our organisation and with the support of our Management I am constantly improving my skills by doing different online courses through MOOCS platform like Coursera.

Our Principal sir said that this pandemic situation should be considered as a positive situation because it gives us some time to improve our skills so that we can use them to teach the students and I really believe that statement as I am personally experiencing a development in my skills.

One of the most astonishing and gigantic transformation all over the world in these times is making education, IT sector and many other platforms online. Well, Indian education started adopting online studies and classes and gave a kick start to recast the traditional way of study.

"COVID-19 pandemic may close the doors of our houses
But can't close the doors of heights of technology"

First of all we've to thank all the faculty for their diligent approach of conducting online classes even during these tough COVID times. As the technology is getting mountainous day by day, we have to make use of it to fight over the consequences of COVID-19. When we first heard about the online classes it just sounded freaky. But later, it turned out to be freaking awesome. Online classes are paving a new path for students to imbibe wisdom and knowledge. It's been a little bit difficult at the time we started learning online but with the attentive assistance of our faculty we got used to online classes and it is a spectacular platform to explore and learn. There's nothing to confess about online studies as we can utilize this good time to strengthen our skills. We have to accept the fact that we are missing our College a lot. We are missing a lot of fun out there with friends. Hope that the college opens soon and everything gets back to normal.

Everything in this world has both Good and Bad, threats and opportunities and to reach great heights we have to pick up the best. We have to join hands to fight over the present day consequences.

I have my first experience in the online learning during the lockdown due to COVID-19. Every day we have an interaction with our faculty concerned. They teach us through online as we feel more comfortable in being class than online sessions. Daily we have work given by our respective faculty and they also guide us for our upcoming exams and they also suggest to attend webinars and some online platform courses like Coursera, Udemy etc and they also make us to do some activities like quizzes, programs online and we all participate and enjoy a lot by debating about the issues on the programming .

When we are online most of our friends who are introvert have got a chance to ask doubts freely such that they need not face everyone in the class as he/she is online. But mostly I feel suffocated staying at home all day long, because at college I used to share my thoughts with my teachers and friends . And we do activities innovatively with the help of our faculty We are all enjoying together by living in one place making our day great. But during our lockdown, I started to learn new things which do not belong to my field of study and make some habits to deal with time which I don't want to waste.

I think this lockdown may be a curse for most of the people in the world but it will be a boon if the students use these days properly as in this generation the internet brings everything to our doorstep such that we can do anything. If we are interested to do more, great innovations will be out that nobody can expect.

At the beginning of lockdown we felt very happy about the postponement of internals. We enjoyed a lot by watching movies, playing games etc. But after a week or so, we started feeling bored and got random thoughts that we have to do something which is useful for our future and for getting placed in a good company with a good package.

Then we started online courses in platforms like courseera, Tata steels, Future skills, Udemy etc. as suggested by our faculty. We registered for courses like machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, python, java and a lot more for free of cost. We upgraded ourselves during this lockdown period. Meanwhile our faculty initiated online classes in Zoom and Google meet. These classes made us to get back on track with academics along with placement training. Some of our students are facing network issues at the time of classes. The same happens with few of our faculty too, but we are trying to solve those problems by switching to an alternate platform.

We are thankful to our management and all our faculty members for encouraging us to do new courses and continuously monitoring and counseling us. This lockdown changed our daily routine and made us adapt to online classes and e-learning.

The teachers are always available to take doubts and clarify them. We are able to interact with our faculty in many ways and get our doubts clarified. The materials that are shared on Google classroom are really helpful to us and the assignments are really interesting. Our faculty are also sharing some YouTube videos which help us to understand the concepts much more clearly. In the beginning it was difficult for us to cope with online teaching but now we are adjusted to this and got habituated. Our faculty are spending a lot of time for us in preparing notes and sharing them as pdf through Whats App groups or through Google class room. They are always available to take doubts and clarify them. Apart from online classes they are also encouraging us to do online courses like Machine Learning, Python for Everybody, IBM etc. which were helpful to us. I must thank our Management for providing free access to these courses from prestigious universities.

Our holidays have been declared when our mid exams are taking place. This Semester was a perfect and a planned schedule for us, but due to the outbreak of pandemic Corona virus everything changed. I was habituated to go to college daily and participate in the lab activities and learn many more interesting things every day. But suddenly everything changed at once. I miss my college badly and also my friends.

But we should accept the present and should abide by the government rules towards social distancing. Social distancing is the only one thing that we can do to control this pandemic. We the students have a great time with these online classes. And the faculty are working hard enough to give their result to the students. Not only lectures by faculty, we have been enrolled in many other courses, such as Coursera, Udemy, Cursa, Tata steel etc.

But it became quite uncomfortable to students, as we keep on seeing the mobile or laptop continuously. It keeps on affecting our eyes. We found ourselves transported from learning among the pleasant feels of nature in the campus to learning in between the four walls of a house. We found how effectively we can work alone. All of a sudden the pandemic has broken us apart from our friends and faculty. In the start, it's been a bit tough for us to cope up with the new way of learning. Later on with the support of our faculty we are doing our best with the online classes. We are grateful to our faculty who are our motivators then and now. I would like to thank our management for providing Coursera courses free for us. May be if we were in the campus we wouldn't have done them. We also started strengthening ourselves in coding participating in the programs offered by the college.

The adjustment to social distance and online learning is ongoing. I have been attending Zoom classes since three weeks and my experience so far has been very good.

But even in these critical times we were provided with online class facilities by our Faculty. I am very much thankful to our college and our faculty for their great support.

Yes, the learning process of physical distancing as well as online learning is in progress. The initial days of this style of learning was a bit difficult. But as the days passed, the online learning became a daily routine. We will have a class from our college either in zoom or Google meet. And we have many free online courses such as Coursera, GATE online classes conducted by JNTU, etc.

Beside doing the work at home, I keep myself engaged in these online courses, which I believe, will help a lot for my career growth, during these days of epidemic. The level of satisfaction one gets in attending the classes online is nothing when compared to that in the college.

This is purely because of the support and encouragement we get from our faculty. Waiting eagerly to be back in our college!!

The long lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic educational institutions ushered in the citywide classroom: tens of thousands of students in cities and towns are glued to computers and smart phone screens as teachers take to online apps for lectures, tutorials and assessments.

As some of students may not have Android mobile or laptop, they are facing some difficulty at their places. Discipline for the students lacks due to this online classes. I prefer offline teaching than online teaching as it not only gives subject but also makes us to behave with discipline, respect to the elders etc.

COVID-19 has a major impact on our lifestyles from the past three months. Many things around us had changed in just a wink of eye. One such major change for us is online classes.

It is they who are making us use our time productively during the lockdown. Along with the class work and assignments we are also doing online courses which is improving our talent. I would like to thank our management for providing Coursera courses free for us. May be if we were in the campus we wouldn't have done them. We also started strengthening ourselves in coding participating in the programs offered by the college.

I accept the truth that everyone of us is missing our college. We are missing the fun filled MUN contests that we participated at BVRIT Narsapur and even in our college. Though we are physically apart, we are virtually connected.
Hope this crisis ends soon and we meet our friends as soon as possible.

Now-a-days we've been undergoing a lot of inconvenience in each and every sector regarding the Corona pandemic. Yet we, the students of VISHNU, feel very proud by the innovative steps taken by our college in view of our academics. The online classes made us feel comfortable with our academics during these tough times. Every day, our faculty members have been spendingquality time with us in the online classes. We are benefitting a lot from these online classes because we are able to get our doubts clarified directly right at that moment.

We are enthusiastic in learning the subject through online. Infact we are able to spend time with our teachers and friends everyday by these online classes. We are having the class room environment everyday at our homes.

Not only ourselves, but also all our parents are very happy to see their beloved children learning even during these kind of difficult days. My sincere thanks to our beloved Principal Sir, all the HODs and the faculty members.

Online courses are very useful now a days during this lockdown because it gives us more information about unknown subject. I use Zoom app to get the interaction with our teachers. I have learned a lot about myself during this time, especially that I am more extrovert than I thought.

Remaining in my home without the fun chats that I regularly have with everyone around the campus is really hard for me! I got pretty accustomed to the online teaching. Our faculty used screen sharing to teach the concepts, shared PDFs to give information about our subject and after class ended, they asked if we had doubts which they clarified. Thank you, dear teachers for helping us during this tough time of Covid-19.

I've been adjusting myself to these Online classes and online assignments. I had never attended online classes before, so at first, I felt some difficulty in accessing these apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Google classroom etc. All the classes are being conducting well. All the faculty are coming out of the box and giving their best to us. I almost attended all the classes to my knowledge.

I've found maximum of students completing and submitting assignments on time. Few students are irregular to classes and late for submissions. Two to three students are not attending online classes due to the lack of availability of internet at their native places. But maximum students are following the classes and completing assignments.

I can confidently say that even though if this lockdown extends for some further months, we'll not face the problem of lag of syllabus. All the syllabus is covered by the faculty on time.

As of March 23, more than 124 countries have closed their educational institutions either in full or in specific regions, and closures now affect more than 1.25 billion learners worldwide. Even we are staying at home because of the COVID lockdown.

Covid experience is a unique experience in my life. As a result of COVID -19 we are unable to come out of our houses. Initially we worried a lot about the uncertainty of the future. Then our faculty and college motivated us and they have given us enough confidence. We are missing our campus but not the learning.

At this time of lockdown, faculty and department are conducting many online sessions regarding online courses and digital learning. I never thought of using technology this much in my academics. One best thing about this lockdown is that it made me techsavvy. Now with the help of internet and faculty even in this kind of pandemic situation I am so confident about my future.

This online teaching has given me a new experience and idea of how one can interact with the students using online tools. In the initial days of my online classes, I was facing little difficulty, because I love to have a person-to-person interaction with students which was a bit awkward during online.

Within few days of classes, I was lined up with more effective ways to interact with my students. This way is much better to give students an opportunity to express their ideas on the screen while teaching. One thing everyone must emphasize on is, making the class interactive rather than monotonous. Interacting with the students will make them feel comfortable and enable them to open up with some good ideas.

Ultimately, I am enjoying learning along with my students via Online Tools.

Thanks to the Management of SVES for providing VEDIC platform, which enabled us to face this tough situation very effectively and almost Teaching and Learning are going on like real time teaching.

Switching to the online classes due to this COVID-19 has definitely forced me to adjust.

In view of COVID-19 lockdown, I am providing online teaching for the benefit of students learning. In this regard I am using EDMODO as LMS (Learning Management System) tool to share video lectures, required material, and assignments. I am using tools like Kahoot, Google Forms, and EDMODO to conduct quiz assignments. When the college announced that we would be online for some period, I started using Zoom and Google meet as a tool to deliver the lecture. Finally some students clarified their doubts personally through Whatsapp also. In addition to this I am suggesting to all the students to view online lectures in YouTube or any other website. I also shared some useful links on various topics.

I am sure that you would agree with me when I say that every faculty member is sure to miss his students, colleagues and the college environs. We definitely miss our conversations and interactions with all of them.

I have tried live classes with short sprints

Faculty

Dr. Abhinav Dayal

"Online teaching and learning" was an oft chosen topic for Group discussion ,in our Campus placement training sessions. As an English Language Teacher I enjoyed my training sessions and the moment this topic was announced our students smiles would stretch their mouths end to end ,there would be a harmonious sigh of relief , across our Group discussion rooms, as if, all of us have aced this vista of knowledge acquisition of our own volition.
