Orientation Session of the IIC by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell
The faculty and members of the Institutions Innovation Council of Vishnu Institute of Technology participated in the Orientation Session of the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC5.0) organized by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell, Govt. of India on 11th January 2022.
Mr Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell is the Resource Person for this program. In this orientation session, faculty learned about the major focus of IIC to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem, Start-up supporting mechanism in the Institute. Also to prepare the institute for Atal Ranking of institutions on innovation achievements framework and to establish a functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas and helps to develop better cognitive ability among students.
Mr Dipan shared his insights on how to conduct various Innovation, IPR and entrepreneurship-related activities like Hackathons, idea competition, mini challenges etc., with the involvement of industries prescribed by MIC in time bound fashion and Identify and reward innovations and share success stories and the way to organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and to create a mentor pool for student innovators.
He shared his inputs and benefits of networking with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations in development of innovation and entrepreneurship among the faculty and students. He suggested creating an Institution's Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution's faculty and students. He presented various updates on IIC 5.0 portal, YUKTI Innovation Challenge, KAPILA, National Innovation Startup Policy and other important key points aligned to IIC in this session.
