A Two-day visit to CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai

The Department of Civil Engineering is glad to inform you that a team of 14 students from 3rd Year B.Tech. Civil Engineering, accompanied by three faculty members, Dr. K. Vijay, Dr. P. Yeswanth, Ms. B.M.Devikaundertook a two-daysvisit to CSIR�Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai today.

The visit provided valuable insights for students aspiring for careers in research. Our students interacted with scientists in the Fatigue & Fracture Lab, Wind Engineering Lab, Advanced Seismic Testing & Research Lab, and Advanced Materials Lab.Chief Scientist Dr. S. Bhaskar and Senior Scientist Dr. T. Hemalatha shared their expertise on advanced research in concrete materials and 3D-printed concrete, with students actively engaging in discussions.The team also visited IITM Research Park � International Centre for Clean Water, where they explored internship opportunities in clean water technology.
