VALIANT -A National Level Student Technical Symposium

VALIANT, Vishnu's Active Learning In Advanced New Trends, VIT's annual two day National level Technical Symposium was held with splendor on the 27th and 28th of February 2015. The technical symposium proffered a platform for sharing the insights of the budding engineers in matters of technology and for actualization of out of the box ideas presented in the projects. It drew from diverse disciplines like engineering spanning the literary and the cultural arenas.

The Symposium began with the inaugural function which set the tone for the event. The inaugural had as its guests a melange of eminent people - academicians, administrators, knowledge management experts and people from the industry. The Chief Guest was Sri Sowmya Narayan Ramanujan,Vice President, Pega Practice, Virtusa and the Guests of honor were Sri R.S.S. Sharma, Manager, Graduate Talent Program, Virtusa and Prof. -Ing. Wolfram Stanek, Prof. University of Applied Sciences, Koblenz, Germany. Vice Chairman, SVES, Sri R. Ravi Chandran, Director and Principal of Vishnu Institute of Technology Dr. D. Suryanarayana graced the occasion. In his address the Chief Guest Sri Soumya Narayan Ramanujan urged the students to strengthen their technical skills. Earlier the Convener of the Symposium, Dr. Sumit Gupta presented the convener's report.

The inauguration of the Virtusa Centre of Excellence which came as a sequel to the inaugural, underlined the objective of the symposium. The two day symposium saw several events like, Paper presentations, Poster presentations, Project exhibitions with participation from 600 students from across the country. Management events, Creative Gallery events, dance and music provided the students with an opportunity to showcase their talents. Treasure Hunt turned to be an attention grabber.

The Valedictory was held on the evening of 28 February 2015. It began with the Convener's report on the activities of the Symposium. The Chief Guest of the function was Sri Prabhakar Rallabandi, Advisory Vice President, Business and Technologies, Tech Mahindra. He emphasized on the importance of charting out one's career managing time successfully. Prizes were given away to the winners of the various competitions.
