The setting of appropriate reference style of journal manually is not easy and it is very tedious task. If MENDELEY PLUGIN is added to Microsoft Word, in the process of rewriting the lines in content making, it will automatically updates the reference number and reference position. In MENDELEY once we add the paper to library and click the paper, the entire data is absorbed from PDF and adjusted according to our requirement without mistakes and also we can customize our own reference style. The session will eye opens on the clarity of using MENDELEY for our research.

They saw different parts of the substation like lightning arrester, Transformer, Isolator, Circuit Breaker etc. Students had a great interactive session of their doubts with working engineers during the visit. The visit came to end by an interactive session conducted by Transco members Mr. G.Srininvasarao, A.E. and Mr. P.Srinivasarao, A.E for solving the doubts raised by the students.

III B.Tech EEE Branch

B.Tech Third Year Students of Electrical Engineering went for an Industrial visit to Dr.Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Plant (Apgenco) in Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada on 16th February, 2019. Dr.Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station (Vijayawada Thermal Power Station) complex consists of four stages.TPS Stage-I, II, III & IV has Installed capacity is 1860.0 MW (6x210 MW+ 1 x 600MW). During the visit the students observed various processing units such as Coal Handling Station, Boilers, conservator, Economizer, Dust Collectors and Bag Filters, Air Preheaters, turbine unit, Generator with Exciter and control Board Room.

The power plant is categorized into 4 houses based on its functioning. At first they visited coal storage and coal handling station. In the second stage they visited coal pulverization equipment. The third stage consists of a set of three parts, each containing a low pressure, high pressure turbines coupled with an alternator and each has generating capacity of 210 MW. In the final stage they visited the cooling towers. At Last they visited the Unit control Board Room where the whole process is monitored by control board members and at the time of emergency they will inform the authorities concern.

A total of 45 students visited the above industry, accompanied by the Department faculties- Mr.P.Naveen, Mr.Ch.PhaniKumar and Mr.G.Jayaprasad.

The National Instruments (NI), a Centre of Excellence has been started by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering under the aegis of Vishnu Institute of Technology, Bhimavaram in collaboration with National Instruments (NI). This centre was inaugurated on November 23rd, 2017 by our respected Chairman Shri. K. V. Vishnu Raju Garu. The NI LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench) Academy was initiated to establish connections and communication between different departments to create interdisciplinary specializations. The centre aims at interdisciplinary research programs, scientific research projects, research relationships with other research centre's or distinguished researchers in collaboration with industry

OBJECTIVES:

  • Conducting Training on LabVIEW software and related hardware to both students and Faculty of ECE, EEE and Mechanical engineering
  • Transforms teaching - learning to Research and Development and industry collaboration
  • Provide opportunities to integrate teaching, research and service
  • Doing experiments beyond the curriculum
  • Doing in-house real time projects
  • Competing with strong engineering knowledge with globally challenging students of the premier institutes.
  • Career development, Internship and Placement opportunity for the students in core engineering industries with help from NI Corporation.
  • Conducting Faculty Development programmes, workshops, summer/winter courses, conferences.
  • Enhance partnership between researchers, scientist to create advance technologies.

COURSE OUTLINE:

The course structure is framed such that it comprises of LabVIEW Core-1 and LabVIEW Core-2 courses. The entire course is to be conducted for the duration of 3 Years. The LabVIEW courses is planned to start when a student enters in the II Year of his/her B. Tech curriculum.
